The standard backstitch tool allows backstitches to start and end on a grid square. This corresponds to every hole on Aida fabric or alternate holes on Evenweave (linen).
A separate 1/2 stitch resolution tool allows backstitches to be added which start and end in the centre of a grid square. This corresponds to every hole of an evenweave (linen) fabric. To stitch on Aida, a hole must be made by passing the needle through the material inbetween the existing holes.
